Historie

History
Nyanstøl was formerly a mountain farm for the two families in the hamlet Eithun. Originally it was located higher up in the valley, but was later moved further down,  to shorten the distance down to the sea. This also gave the name of the place, Nyanstøl, meaning the "new mountain farm". Life on the farm consisted of hard work and long hours for the lonely milkmaids. The only exception was on Sundays, when it often where held gatherings up on the farm when bachelors from surrounding villages came over the mountains to meet the cute milkmaids.
The farm was in regular use until the fifties/sixties consisted of two residences and two barns, and a bridge over the river Kvinna. The only house that remains today, was in 2011 lifted from it's foundation during the winterstorm Dagmar.
