History of Cache Container:
I am very partial to collecting items on our caching journeys, only to re-purpose them in meaningful ways. This item is far removed from its origins in Nevada, and from its original purpose. I found it on a threatening-to-snow, blackest black night in the Nevada desert, while caching, of course. It has spent over 1-1/2 years next to my front door, just looking for a cache to contain.

This seems the perfect time, place, and tribute to repurpose this special item. Afterall, Geokashers will recognize it from that night caching in the desert. Should make it easy for him to find! HA! Since he has racked up some rather impressive numbers it is only right to use this impressive momento in tribute.

This is a tribute cache dedicated to
Geokashers
to commemorate his 2,000th FTF log
which is also his 13,000th Find!
Congratulations, GK!
Way to Rack 'em Up!

Back on May 4, 2011 Team 43 published a handful of caches up on this ridge to entice Geokashers to leave work, hike in 100 degree weather, just for the opportunity to log a few more FTFs before his milestone 1,000 FTF logged. Each of those were individually a tribute to a great cacher with drive and determination that leaves the rest of us eating dust in his wake.

May 4, 2011 Geokashers' 1,000 FTFs Tribute caches list:

Today, September 2, 2013, two of the three members of Team 43 had opportunity to place four more tribute caches along a stretch we have mentally guarded for the intervening 2-plus years. Incredibly Geokashers is fast approaching his 2,000th milestone FTF log. Now we can physically place a few more tribute hides, and hope GK and others that follow enjoy this nice section of the park. It is our hope to publish these new caches to coincide with his actual 2,000 FTF opportunity.

Hides in this series of GK * 2K FTF tribute caches:
That brings the total of FTF achievement tribute caches to a total of 10.
Guess that defines Geokashers as a "10" cacher for sure.

Placement of this and the other three GK * 2K FTF* cache series is truly a labor of love: love for the game, the competitiveness, personal accomplishments, and most of all, for the people we have encountered and befriended along the way.

As an old Hope so succinctly stated ....thanks for the Memories!

... and it is our Team 43 heart-felt hope to wish you ... Happy Caching!

and, another inside joke, of course, is to say:
may you never run out of Pink Ink!

Which FTF number is this? Actually it was right around 800-something if I remember correctly.
