This cache is a short half hour walk from town past the jetty and boat ramp.
Moncks Head is the rock formation jutting out into the sea just past the boat ramp. The views are spectacular and if you are quiet for long enough you will see the hundreds of lizards that take up residence here. Turtles are often spotted from shore and you can see all the boats returning home with their catch of the day. The boat ramp is a popular place for tourists who want to fish but dont have a 4wd. Merv is the main attraction though, the giant queensland grouper that tends to linger around the jetty, perhaps hoping for a free feed! Be warned, do not hand feed him, he could easily take your hand accidently. A 2.5m grouper is not to be played with! Amazing to see!
This cache is hidden near the top of Moncks head amongst the rocks. We have included a picture, to show the view the geocache has from his hiding place.
