This cache is a small LnL placed atop the summit of Windtower, a magestic peak located south of Canmore. I placed this cache on my 23rd birthday! This medium hike / easy scramble is approximately 11 kilometers in length with an elevation gain of approximately 1,000 meters. It took us 5 hours return going at a leisurely pace.
Windtower as seen from Highway 1:
Windtower is an easy scramble from West Wind Pass. The path up the mountain is clearly seen from West Wind Pass, although if you'd like my GPX route file just email me! There are also several rock cairns along the way to point you in the right direction.
There are some excellent views from this peak so remember to take and post some pictures!
