Geocache Description:

NEWSFLASH: Rubyroo is NOT in residence!
Please note the cache container, logbook etc are available for discovery. Rubyroo is on holiday in a warm dry house for the winter. She will return to the cache container in warm dryer weather next year.

This cache started life as a micro to give first-to-finders a small challenge, but has been replaced (6 October 2013) with a cleaned plastic 2.5 litre paint pot, so it should be quite easy to find. This offers a safe hotel for larger Travel Bugs. A metal tool was attached to the lid, but this has walked away! Please bring your own openning tool (a flat key may be suitable, but I think a small coin will not do the job easily. Fingers alone are almost certainly not enough). This cache should be opened with care by levering the lid. I have opened and closed the lid many times so I know it is possible, but the pot and/or lid can be damaged by careless fingers, so please treat with respect.

Original contents include a red log-book and red pencil and other red nic-nacs. Please keep the ruby-red theme going by red swaps only. Also, please leave Rubyroo, the red cuddly toy, in the cache when you leave (Rubyroo will spend winter months in the CO's home to keep comfortable and dry, not in this cache - Rubyroo returns after each winter). Finally, please leave the cache well hidden with sticks and leaves. Thank you - and please have fun.

Rubyroo

This is the second in a sequence of three caches. This cache is in a small wooded area so coordinates may not be perfect, but please let us all know if you can offer better!

Why Rubyroo? I have a friend named Ruby.

Why here? This is a really peaceful little wood (in contrast to the nearby A34). Judging by the state of the path between the three caches, I think not many people come this way. Weeds and nettles are high at the moment (Sept/Oct 2013 - hence terrain rating 2). The route between the caches is a restricted byway, not only a path, so in principle, one can cycle this route too, but in much of the year I don't think this is possible.

If you haven't already done so, I encourage you to look for Roobyroo1 and Rubyroo3 too!

After waiting almost a week!... Congratulations to look-sharp - FTF this cache

And congratulations again to look-sharp - FTF all three in this series on one day

And congratulations, finally, to chrisjdvs - FTF this cache when replaced by a much larger container (and first to meet Rubyroo)
