Geocache Description:

I just thought I’d share a wonderful story of a Lost and Found…..

Before the story though: MIND THE ROAD, there is no foot path.  You do not need to cross the fence to access the cache......

....And now the reason I am bringing you to this location......

After the usual heavy Friday night at this The Naughty Weekend Away Camp in Dover, I and cacher Rosieb (Sam) decided that a good walk and a few caches where in order, and a pint undoubtedly a sneaky pint.

On our glorious walk in the in the summer sun we found ourselves in a field that appeared to have no real exit to it. So we were on the lookout for an exit point that would cause minimum damage to both the fence and ourselves (Sam’s a bit short!).  Yay, we found the perfect spot and hoped out of the field and went to check the GPS…… Oh dear. . . . I’d lost my GPS, my Garmin Origen 600 that I’d only had for 4 months, how gutted did feel.

So we started to figure out logically where I could have dropped it and started searching through the knee high grass. Following the route we thought we’d taken, following the tracks recorded on Sam’s GPS, everywhere and anywhere and two and a half hours later, no joy.

Feeling quite guilty about ruining this poor ladies day of caching because I can’t look after my own stuff; but also frustrated that I actually knew it was in that area but just couldn’t find I decided I’d have to phone a friend.

Within 20 minutes, I had no less than 14 cachers at the site helping me in the search.  I was overwhelmed with amount of people that turned out to help me, including 4 cachers that where actually only passing to get another cache in the area.

I thought to myself that if this many cachers can’t find it then probably no one can.  But a further hour and half later there was no joy and I decided to call off the search, it was getting embarrassing.

As we started to move back to the road in that ‘I can’t leave without finding it’ cacher kind of way I heard a scream, ‘fOUND IT’!! Everyone looked around and there was Sam, already in tears of relief holding my lovely GPS!

We didn’t bother going for the next cache, we’d gone off it for the day by then. It was very much straight to the beer fridge for me, I really needed a drink!

But I’d like to say the hugest thank you to Border Caz, Team Frayers, Windy Miller, Luminance ,Smif247, CadencetheGeokid, Rosieb 123, Monfish24, Shadowray, dollypeg, bacas and rosieb (and anyone else I’ve missed) for being so community spirited and giving up your holiday time to help look for my prised GPS. You are all legends and what makes the geocaching community a pleasure to be a part of.

I have placed this cache at the exact location my GPS was found in their honour.
