Geocache Description:

The Bearberry Bluff Trail is a 1.1 mile new trail that intersects with the well established Long Lake Loop Trail and the Long Lake Connector Trail. This is an easy to find cache at a resting spot with a picnic table. Bring your own pen and there is no room in the cache container for anything other than the log.

Park in the Long Lake Trailhead parking lot: Take Colleen St off the Glenn Hwy, then follow fish signs along the paved road and continue on the lumpy gravel road past Canoe and Irene Lakes. Turn left at the Long Lake Access sign at top of hill.

A few hundred feet after you start on the trail, you'll get to a 3-way intersection and go right on the NE trail to go around the NE end of Long Lake. About 0.5 mile later at the NE end of Long Lake you'll see a trail marker and a split in the trail. Stay to the right at the split instead of continuing around Long Lake. At the next intersection stay to the right and you will soon see the marker for the Bearberry Bluff Trail. See the background picture that shows the trail tracks. Once you find the cache, you can continue on the trail until you intersect with the Long Lake Loop Connector Trail and you can head back to the parking area that way if you want to have a loop back to your vehicle.

Having Northwest Trails maps on your Garmin map enabled gpsr will help navigating the multiple trails in the area. This map is available at www.switchbacks.com/nwtrails/
