Pierre Nothomb écrivain et politicien belge, personnage typique de l’entre deux-guerres(1887-1966). Son œuvre littéraire est excessivement abondante, à côté de ses œuvres poétiques, il publie une quantité impressionnante de romans.
Il fait du Pont d’Oye un centre de rencontre et un noyau de la vie culturelle luxembourgeoise où se côtoient écrivains, peintres, politiciens.
Amoureux de la grande forêt d’Anlier, il crée en 1937, la cérémonie de la Bénédiction de la Forêt qu’il développe par la suite pour en faire une des manifestations phare de la région. C’est lui aussi qui fait placer le monument Pétrarque, en lisière de la forêt d’Anlier.
Profondément attaché à sa terre et à sa forêt, il est enterré en 1966, dans ce caveau au cœur du domaine du Pont d’Oye au bord de l’étang dans cette clairière. La légende dit qu’il serait selon ses volontés enterré debout, tourné vers la forêt. Et Michel Cornélis ajoute même dans son ouvrage « Etranges jeux de vie » l’histoire de la bouteille … « les ouvriers communaux eurent beaucoup de mal à creuser la fosse entre les pierres et les racines. Pour les récompenser de leur labeur, un des héritiers leur offrit une bouteille de vin. Mais le cortège funèbre arriva plus tôt que prévu et gênés, les ouvriers cachèrent la bouteille dans la fosse. On dit qu’ils n’eurent pas le temps de la récupérer et que cette bouteille fut ensevelie avec le cercueil ! »

Pierre Nothomb, schrijver en belgische politicus, typische figuur van de « entre deux-guerres » période (1887-1966). Zijn literaire werk is bijzonder overvloedig, aan de kant van zijn poetische werk, hij publiceert een groote hoeveelheid van romans.
Hij doet van de « Pont d’Oye » een ontmoetting centrum en een kern voor de luxemburge cultuur waar schrijver, politicus, kunstschilder zich ontmoetten.
Verliefde op de groote woud van Anlier, hij créért in 1937 een cérémonie voor de zeggen van het woud. Dit zal de grootste évenement van de régio worden. Hij heeft ook de monument « Pétrarque » geplaats aan de zoom van het woud van Anlier. Diep gehecht aan zijn land en zijn woud, hij ligt begraven, sind 1966, in een grafkelder in hart van domein « Pont d’Oye » aan de kant van de vijver. De légende zegt dat hij daarin op staat naar zijn woud te kijken. Michel Cornelis zegt ook in zijn boek « Etranges jeux de vie » het verhaal van de fles …« gemeentelijke arbeiders hadden veel moeite om een kuil tussen de stenen en wortels te graven. Om ze voor hun werk te belonen, een van hun erfgenamen bood een fles wijn. Maar de begrafenisstoet kwam eerder dan verwacht en belemmerd de werknemers verborg de fles in de put. Ze zeggen dat ze geen tijd om te herstellen hebben en dat de fles werd begraven met de kist! »
