Geocache Description:

An easy geocache hidden near Ted's tree, the state's largest madrona. Very easy terrain and very easy hide; made as a beginner geocache. A parking spot or two in the back if you arrive from the alley. Please do not trample any plants.

This cache was hidden for our mom to find on her birthday (Happy birthday, we love you). This is the start of her geocaching career at a location very close to her heart. Her father, Theodore Serr, loved this tree and was afraid someone would cut it down. After his death, our grandmother Virginia bought the tree and maintains it as a constant reminder of how important it is to preserve nature. It is now the state's largest madrona tree at 85 feet tall and thought to be one of the oldest at around 400 years old.

Please enjoy this park, but do not trample any of the plants. She puts a lot of time and work into the gardening and we will have to remove the cache if damage is done to the area. The cache should be simple to find without walking over or searching through any plants.

If you are having a hard time, read the hint. This is meant to be a very simple beginner's geocache. You are looking for a small plastic container. If you wish to read more about the tree please read the article attached from the local paper.
