Oonagh's Willow Home Traditional Cache

A visit to one of most beautiful sites on the North Coast of Ireland.  The National Trust look after many miles of coast line and it's jewel in the crown is the Giant's Causeway, a site full of mystery, history and fantastic landscapes, which change with the weather and time of day.  The site is already an Earth Cache.  We aim to hide several caches over the next year, keep watching for them.

The National Trust are organising caches across the UK on several of their sites.  We are running a 'things to do before you are 11 3/4' campaign, which includes geocaching as an activity, and also wish to encourage as many people as possible to explore the wonderful countryside around us.  This first cache is a short journey from the Giant's Causeway, using an easy path close to the old Causeway School on the Causeway Road.  NT members may park in the Car Parks for free, parking at Portballintrae is free - walk along the old tram way and join the path by walking up over the new visitor centre roof.  Charges will apply to non members wishing to park at the visitor centre, but if you do park (there are also 'green' rates - see the website (www.nationaltrust.org.uk), pop in and experience the interactive centre and use the audio guide with lots of information about the site.
