This song from 1962 was not only a Graveyard Hit, it did well with ‘You the Living’, reaching number 1 on the USA Hot 100 just in time for Halloween that year. In Britain however it was banned from airplay by the BBC as being “too morbid.” It was re-released in the United Kingdom in 1973, where it peaked at #3 in early October.
