Mir ist aufgefallen, dass dieser Cache schon deutlich länger nicht gepflegt wurde, deaktiviert ist und/oder nicht gefunden wurde, als nur "ein paar Wochen", wie es die Richtlinien von Geocaching.com vorsehen.
Auch wenn Geocaching.com den Platz vorübergehend für dich reserviert und damit andere Caches in der näheren Umgebung fernhält, so kann dies letztlich nicht auf Dauer geschehen.

Im Interesse aller Cacher bitte ich dich um zeitnahe Pflege und Reaktivierung des Caches innerhalb der nächsten 30 Tage. Nach Ablauf dieser Frist könnte das Listing durch einen Reviewer archiviert werden.

Bitte gehe folgendermaßen vor:

  • verfasse nach der Wartung bitte jeweils einen Log vom Typ „Owner maintenance“ UND "Enable Listing" um den Cache wieder als „gewartet“ und auffindbar auszuweisen
  • oder archiviere den Cache selbst per Log vom Typ "Archive" wenn Du Dich nicht mehr darum kümmern kannst / möchtest, bitte in diesem Falle an eventuell angefallenen Geomüll denken (z.B. Zwischenstationen von Multis).

Bitte poste regelmäßig (spätestens alle 4 Wochen) Statusinformationen zum Cache und (falls absehbar) den geplanten Aktivierungszeitpunkt als kurze Note im Listing. (bitte keine Mails dafür verwenden!).
Das ist wichtig damit:

  1. Der Cache nicht mangels Rückmeldung archiviert wird.
  2. Alle Suchenden über den Zustand des Caches informiert sind.

I noticed that this cache has not been maintained, deactivated and/or not found for significantly longer than just "a few weeks" as per Geocaching.com's guidelines.
Even if Geocaching.com temporarily reserves the site for you and thus keeps other caches in the vicinity away, this ultimately cannot happen permanently.

In the interest of all cachers, I ask you to maintain and reactivate the cache promptly within the next 30 days. After this period, the listing could be archived by a reviewer..

Please proceed as follows:

  • please write a log of type "Owner maintenance" AND "Enable Listing "** after the maintenance to show the cache as "maintained" and findable again
  • or archive the cache yourself with a log of type "Archive" if you can't / don't want to take care of it anymore, in this case please think about possible geo garbage (e.g. stopovers of multis).

Please post regularly (at least every 4 weeks) status information about the cache and (if predictable) the planned activation time as a short note in the listing. (please do not use mails for this!).
This is important so that:

  1. the cache is not archived for lack of feedback.
  2. all searchers are informed about the state of the cache.

Deutsche Beschreibung
Mit dieser kleinen Bildersuche möchten wir euch die Mainzer Altstadt etwas näher bringen. Genauer gesagt den südlichen Teil rund um Kirschgarten und die Augustinerstraße, die zu den schönsten Ecken von Mainz zählen. Es gilt Kirchen, Fachwerkhäuser und andere Profanbauten sowie die letzten Reste der früheren Stadtbefestigung zu bestaunen. Leider haben Krieg und Zerstörung die Stadt über zwei Jahrtausende immer wieder getroffen - am schwersten in den Jahren zwischen 1942 und 1945 während des zweiten Weltkriegs. Nahezu das gesamte Stadtgebiet lag damals in Schutt und Asche. Auch wenn vieles wieder liebevoll aufgebaut und restauriert wurde, so sind die durch moderne Bebauung aufgefüllten Lücken doch nicht zu übersehen.

Um diesen Cache absolvieren zu können, müsst ihr euch als erstes diese Photokollektion ausdrucken und mitnehmen. An jeder Stage werdet ihr eines der Motive finden. Die auf dem Bild dargestellte Zahl wird dem Buchstaben der Stage zugeordnet. Daraus lässt sich am Ende das Final berechnen. In welcher Reihenfolge ihr die Stages ablauft, ist euch überlassen. Wir empfehlen jedoch die vorgegebene, da sie einen schönen Rundgang von etwa 1,5 km Länge ergibt. Da ihr euch größtenteils durch enge Altstadt-Gassen bewegt, wird der GPS-Empfang bisweilen nicht besonders berauschend sein. Die Motive sollten sich aber dennoch einfach finden lassen.


English description
With this little multi stage cache we would like to show you the old town of Mainz. Or to be more precise the southern part of it around "Kirschgarten" and "Augustinerstraße", probably the most beautiful spots in Mainz. You will see churches, frame houses and other secular buildings as well as the last remains of the ancient city wall. During the second world war Mainz was destroyed almost completely but the old buildings were restored very carefully. However, the modern housing is visible all over the place.

To complete this cache you first have to print out this photo collection. At every stage you will find one of the motifs. The number on the picture is assigned to the corresponding letter of the stage. In the end you can calculate the final coordinates from that. The order of the stages is up to you. However, we recommend the given order for it is a nice walk of about 1.5 km. Due to the narrow old town streets GPS signal can be weak at some spots. Nevertheless, the motifs should easily be identified.
