The coordinates will take you to St. Martin Church and Cemetery in grand Whitfield, Indiana, home of the Whitfield Men's Club basketball team. These fellas are a rough and tumble sort of group, Rutherford Township's finest. Many are farmers while others are mechanics and self employed entrepreneurs. You know, those good ole boys. In 1990 a tornado ripped through this area that spanned from Petersburg all the way to Bedford. The church was badly damaged and the recreational hall where the Men's Club met was completely demolished. This disaster did not deter these man, they simply refocused their efforts to help in the clean up and rebuilding of their community. This cache is placed here to honor these folks and the service they performed as they sought no recognition of their own.
While placing this cache I was thinking about the disaster that occurred in the area and the camaraderie among the men. What to my surprise I discovered an old basketball goal in the area and that made me settle on its name.
Since this cache is located near a church and cemetery I am going to treat it like a cemetery cache. Please, no night caching as the horseless man (or woman) of Rutherford hollow just might come after ya. On weekends and certain days of the week the area might become congested with muggles; use common sense and come back later when the muggles are gone.
You are looking for a small camouflaged trinket jar with screw on cap. Please bring your own writing instrument as there is not room in the container for one. There is no need to enter onto private property to find this cache.
