El Convento de la Encarnación es un convento de clausura de monjas carmelitas que se encuentra en la ciudad española de Ávila. Este convento se tornó conocido porque en él ingresó Santa Teresa de Jesús en 1535, donde fue primero monja y después madre priora, antes de comenzar las fundaciones de conventos de su nueva orden religiosa: la Orden de los Carmelitas Descalzos.
HISTORIA
En 1479 se fundó un beaterio carmelita por Doña Beatriz de Higuera bajo la advocación de Santa María de la Encarnación, que se instaló provisionalmente junto a la puerta de San Vicente. Tras comprar los terrenos necesarios comenzó la construcción del convento. La iglesia fue edificada sobre el solar que ocupaba la vivienda familiar y el convento de San José. La fachada de estilo renacentista contrasta con la espadaña que se añadió en el siglo XVIII.
Consta de cuatro naves de dos plantas. El patio central estaba rodeado de por un claustro de dos alturas. Sufrió diversas restauraciones en el siglo XVIII. Sobre la celda de la Santa se levantó una capilla en 1630. que se inauguró el 4 de abril de 1515, casualmente, el mismo día en que era bautizada Teresa de Cepeda.
En este convento tomó hábito Teresa de Jesús como novicia en la órden del Carmelo en 1535 y aquí planificó toda la reforma. Vivó en él veintisiete años, tres de ellos como priora, y de él partió para llevar a cabo la reforma carmelita. Son numerosos los episodios de su vida mística que se desarrollaron entre estos muros.
San Juan de la Cruz estuvo desde 1.572 hasta 1.577, fue capellán y confesor de las monjas.
En la clausura se conservan reliquias, valiosos manuscritos y un dibujo de San Juan de la Cruz. A través de sus rejas, ambos santos, hablaban de los pasos necesarios para llegar a la unión mística con Dios
Posee un museo se conservan efectos personales de la Santa y se muestran escenarios testigos de milagrosas experiencias místicas la escalera donde se apareció el niño Jesús, la capilla de la Transverberación, la celda que ocupó… Sin embargo, este convento no se acogió a la reforma de las descalzas hasta la mitad del siglo XX.
En 2015 se celebrará actos con motivo del quinto centenario del nacimiento de Santa Teresa de Jesús.

Es un micro con logbook y material de escritura. Tal y como era la Santa, la austeridad posee este cache y hay poco (aunque no ningún) espacio para el intercambio. Al estar en este lugar se rinde pleitesia a todo lo que ella admiró.
