Welcome to Faringdon (Canterbury) Traditional Cache

For those from out of town, Rolleston is the seat and largest town in the Selwyn District, in the Canterbury Region of New Zealand's South Island. It is located on the Canterbury Plains 22 kilometres south-west of Christchurch, and is considered a satellite town of the city. It is currently undergoing rapid expansion following the 2010 earthquakes which were centered near Rolleston. Despite the intensity of the earthquakes Rolleston suffered little damage due to the stable rocky ground underlying it. This has been a drawcard for many who have moved west from Christchurch which suffered much greater damage. Faringdon is one of several new subdivisions which is emerging. As with many new suburbs the design encourages community living and shared open spaces. You will find the cache at the entrance to Faringdon. Seating is provided for cachers to sign the log!
