The dam is filled by pumping water from the nearby Wivenhoe Dam. This water is used to drive two turbines generating 500 megawatts before returning to Wivenhoe Dam. The cache is located near the lookout, be sure to visit it and enjoy the view. Whilst you're there you'll hear the electrical power buzzing through the overhead high voltage lines, hence the name of the cache.
