Geocache Description:

Think about it.  You spend your whole life with a shovel digging a trench to Lake Erie and as the last few shovel fulls leave the ditch and a small trickle begins to flow you're startled out of your shorts by huge whistle and chug chug chugin' train coming right up alongside your life's work.  This cache is at one of the water controls for the Wabash and Erie Canal.

You can see the Canal on the west side of the river at the St Joe Center bridge over the St Joseph river.  I don't know quite how it all worked.  There was an stone earth dam just north of Paddling 3 by Thunter. Then upstream a few of these works to allow water to fill the canal.  Anyway we have a little magnetic cache at one of the fill gates.  Not a strict river cache.  You could extreme bushwhack down to the river edge.

ACCESS TO CACHE DEPENDS ON RIVER LEVELS- THEY WILL SOON DROP IT WAY DOWN TO REMOVE BOARDS FROM DAM AND THEN BRING BACK TO WINTER LEVELS- COULD BE A SEA OF MUD.
