VICIOUS VEXATION (Otago) Mystery Cache

Two rather tricky Sudoku word puzzles to complete so that you can discover the missing numbers of the cache coordinates.

The cache is located at S 45 49.--- E 170 29. ---

Place the letters of the word VEXATION so that each letter appears only once in every line, column and 3x3 square, according to the usual rules of Sudoku.

But wait a bit, there are only 8 letters what about the 9^th square in each cell of the grid? This is filled by the symbol “*” which denotes a space.

If you choose to print the grids in grayscale, the colour coded clue squares are also marked with '▪'

The cache is a camoed screw top container located above ground level, please extract with care, and replace as found.
