Geocache Description:

Tullah is the gateway to the West Coast of Tasmania and as you drive into town there is lots of information on offer about the history of the town and the area.

Heading south, on the left there are several structures housing interpretative history boards and old mining machinery.  On the right is the Wee Georgie Wood Steam Railway where, if you happen to be about on the right day, you can take a ride on a restored locomotive ($).

One of the interpretative history boards has details of the history of the township of Tullah and includes a large photo of the town taken in 1982 in the heyday of the Hydro.  In 1982 mr sharnie's tribe lived and worked in Tullah and pointed out his house and the huge singlemens quarters  complex where he lived when he first hit town.

Have a wander about and learn a bit about the history of Tullah and the West Coast and maybe have a ride on a train.

The cache is a camoflagued eclipse tin tucked into an inconspicuous spot.  BYO pen and please rehide carefully.
