The 'Welcome to Bournemouth' sign was installed in the summer of 2013, at a cost of £76k. The walk to the cache affords an unequalled opportunity to decide for yourself if the money was well spent or not! Once you have done this, don't miss the opportunity to walk a way back down the lane and see the counterpart message. Parking available about 10M. away if you need a quick cache and dash, or at nearby Holdenhurst village- plenty around the church, and quite a pleasant 10 minute stroll from there. The bridge forms part of a cycle route and is very quiet and relatively free of traffic (especially given how close it is the the Castlepoint Shopping Centre).
