Geocache Description:

A short series of caches placed within the grounds of Wightwick Manor (pronounced "Wittick"), which is now owned by the National Trust. The caches are only accessible during normal opening hours of the gardens. Entry is free for National Trust members but non-members are required to pay an admission fee. Please check opening times and current admission charges (see Related Web Page)

Entry to the House is not required to find the caches

Wightwick Manor was built by Theodore Mander, a successful 19th-century industrialist. It is a superb and rare example of a house built and furnished in the Arts and Crafts style. The house interiors feature original wallpaper and fabrics by Arts and Crafts pioneer William Morris, along with Pre-Raphaelite stained glass, paintings, and objets d'art.

The woodland walk contains mostly broad leaved trees. It provides a contrast to the more formal gardens nearer the house. Returning to the car park will take you past some attractive pools and a different view of the manor.

All the caches have been placed with the kind permission of Mr John Wood, Conservation & Engagement Manager Wightwick Manor & Gardens
