A microsize camoued pill bottle is hidden near Stratford Northwestern Secondary School on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the school’s opening in 1963.
The NWSS-50 caches placed at Northwestern commemorate great teachers whom I was honoured to work alongside for many years.
Mr. Bill Lukas taught for over thirty years in the history department of Northwestern, until his retirement a few years ago. Bill was an imposing person, about 6 ft. 4 in. tall. He talked about wanting to be a police officer when younger, but he never did, instead settling into teaching where his warm, gentle personality was most effective with the students. He had a wonderful sense of humour, he was a lover of golf in his spare time, and just a great guy to be around. We travelled on school trips to Europe together and saw the world. Thanks for everything you did for me, Bill. We continue to miss you out on the links!
The cache when originally placed contained a log book, golf balls and tees, a baseball bat TB, some foreign coins, a rubber curling rock and a fridge magnet from the 50th party for NWSS. FTF prize from the local coffee shop will reward your enthusiasm for caching.
Congratulations to HotBarbecuered for the FTF on a hot muggy morning in Stratford!
Please re-cover the cache with cedar twigs when needed to maintain the hide.
