This cache is located right at the main transport hub for Wells, all buses and coaches to and from the city terminate or start here and most people visiting the city center for some shopping and a trip to the nearby supermarket park their cars here at the lower end of the city.
Its great if you have visited the Cathedreal and Palace before and want to explore the great back alley and niche shops around the lower end of the center of Wells and there are some great specialist shops nearby including collectables/TV memorabilia, Beads and Jewlery making, A hardware shop that hasn't changed much since the 60/70's and still sell screws, nails, candles etc.. by the llb or each, a fantastic £1 shop that seams to sell everything you could ever need, a couple of really great antique and vintage shops selling everything from Military Medals, 1st Edition Books right through to beautiful 19th and early 20th century ceramics and pottery and even the kitchen sink (one currently has one of those big old stone sinks for sale sitting in the window), also there are fabric & haberdashary shops, art and stationary shops, camping, bikes, toys, computers, crystals, jewlery, sweets (in jars!), Home decor and a great range of Charity shops. A LOT of people forget about this end of the city center and focus on the Catherdreal and the expensive shops around it in the market square and high street, but personally I love walking down to this end and wondering around the great little shops (often down little back streets and alleys) where the stock is ever changing and some amazing things to buy. That list is barely half of what is around this cache and you could loose your self for hours wondering around these fantastic little (and not so little) shops while taking in the 17th and 18th century buildings and features.
I have convieniently placed this cache about 200-300 meters away from several others in a way to take you on a nice walk around the cool little shops and cafes and also some of the nice little features of this history packed city. There are around 10 caches that you could hit in about an hour and a half just having a gentle stroll or much faster if you go direct from cache to cache without having a look around.
You are looking for a small container attached to an out of place fitting pushed snug between a sign and wall.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Be careful when retrieving and replacing the cache and do a full 360 degree turn to ensure no one is watching you. If need be then grab it and walk around the corner out of view to fill the logbook in and then just walk back past and push it back into its spot casually. Far too many caches have been lost in Wells by curious muggles or stupid kids seeing a geocacher find one, then waiting for them to go before going over and pinching it. It is a small cache so ensure you have a pen.
