Geocache Description:

This is the last of a series of caches placed along a trail on former DNR land now Whatcom County Parks property. While this reconveyance of the property was approved earlier this year, it will take along time to complete the plan for the area.

This trail passes through diverse ecosystems. There will be some road walking, some trail walking, some level-ish areas, some steeper areas, some deciduous forests, some mature evergreen forest, and even some old growth trees. In some sections you will see old logging cable and a long time ago I even found some other old logging relics including a huge saw blade. You may encounter hikers, mountain bikers, horses, and even the occasional (illegal) motorcycle.

At the end of the trail, you will be able to push through a few feet of small trees to access the upper logging roads where there are more caches awaiting you. One of these caches, This is definitely not a drive by, is owned by yours truly. Previously, I suggested people approach that cache from the west side which included a 0.4 mile primative trail. You can probably imagine the comments I got on that! This is a much easier way to reach this area and the distance is about the same.
