The Tragically Hip - At The Hundredth Meridian

Advent 2013 - Day 21 of 25

This cache IS at the posted co-ordinates. As a challenge cache, you will be required to prove your qualifications when you log your find. More information on that below.

In September 2012, I received a heck of a phone call in the morning from my good friend The Blue Quasar. He and RCA777 were planning a Guys' Weekend to Kansas in pursuit of Mingo, and wondered if I'd like to come with them. The only catch was that I would have to get onto a plane for the first time in 30+ years if I wanted to join.

Torn between an incredible life fear of flying and a strong desire to hang out with a couple of groovy dudes for a weekend of caching in a strange land, I eventually worked up the moxy to get on that plane. It turned out to be an amazing experience that I'll never forget.

While driving to Mingo from the airport in Wichita, Kansas, I realized that we would be crossing the hundredth meridian to make this find, and the Tragically Hip song popped into my head. Thus, the idea of this challenge was born. I imagine for some jetsetters this will be a very simple challenge, but for folks like me, it was an awesome challenge to overcome.

To qualify for this challenge:

1. Find at least one cache with posted co-ordinates anywhere between W100° 00.000 to W179° 59.999 at any time in your caching history. Where that cache is in the Northern or Southern hemisphere is irrelevant.

2. Qualifying cache types are as follows: Traditional, Multi, Unknown (including Geocaching HQ), Letterbox Hybrid, Wherigo, and Project A.P.E. Cache types other than these listed are not valid for the purposes of this challenge cache.

3. In your found it log, you will be required to include the link to the log for your qualifying cache find. This can be accomplished by right-clicking on the link in the upper right-hand corner of that found cache, located beside the large smiley and under the words "Found It!". Copy that link and paste it into your found it log. Screenshots of where to find that link using Windows or MacOS is shown in the table below, outlined in the red box.
