"Geochat doesn't begin until digestion does"
It's funny. At Swedish Breakfasts #1, #2 and #3, everyone met up but only a few words were spoken until the food was bought and it had reached the stomach. Then each time, we chatted for the bones of four hours... fueled by bacon grease. Not bad for a fledgling Geocaching event series! Since then, it has become known as Dublins most family-friendly event, and the lure of cheap food to fill a hole in the stomach has brought all the regulars and visitors out of the woodwork to chat Geocaching. So come join us early Sunday morning to fill your stomach, have your fill of geochat, and fill your mind with ideas for Sunday caching!
The Swedish Breakfast series is one of Dublins regular events, taking place approximately every ten weeks... ample time to have tried the hints gleaned from the previous meetup! So come join us for breakfast on Sunday, 3rd November starting from 930am. We'll meet in the restaurant on the very top floor of Ikea (go in via the main entrance under the building and just follow the escalators) at one of the tables. The restaurant opens at 930am and I will have my food and be seated at about 945am. If you're eating, I would suggest getting food before meeting the group due to the fact that you can get free tea/coffee (with unlimited free refills) from 930am to 1000am. We typically sit in the same place everytime, so once you've paid and gotten your tea/coffee/sugar, look towards the windows in the corner to the south west of the restaurant!
There is however, absolutely no requirement to buy food or drink at the venue; however I would imagine it is hard to watch other people tearing into bacon and sausages when you're having nothing :) There is plenty of healthier food available, but I just can't resist a good fry....
This will be an opportunity to help travel bugs and geocoins on their way as well as eat a hearty breakfast ready for your own Sunday caching adventures. Bring your own personal coin/bug selection for discovery and bring your questions about that annoying puzzle along too. You may (or may not) get help! If you have any plans for upcoming caches, this event would be a great time to discuss them with the group. If you're thinking of going to your first event, come along! If you're thinking of a days shopping, why not tie it in with an event cache??
As an aside, I need one more saucepan. At Swedish Breakfast #3, I did pick one up and walked all the way to the tills. Faced with a 45 minute queue, I put it down and walked out. So I will try again this time. Don't let me forget!
As another aside, what's with the title? Well I got my card filled, so I'm entitled to free food. Don't let me forget!
To/from the event:
There is an absolutely incredible amount of free parking in the Ikea carpark so car is by far the best way to get here. Unfortunately there is no bus service from the city center at this hour on a Sunday.
