Geocache Description:
Please read the entire page carefully before setting out to FIND this cache.
The cache container is at the posted coordinates, but this is a challenge cache which has a set of requirements that must be met before it can be logged. Only online "found it" logs that have previously satisfied the requirements will remain on the listing.
All others will be deleted. Please follow the logging requirements or risk having you log deleted.
Have you ever had a busy caching day? How about a busy well-rounded caching day? I had been caching two years before I heard about the "Busy Day Challenge" and as a fairly new cacher this was something that I was challenged to try and accomplish. My first “Busy Day” of caching happened in Starkville, Mississippi in March of 2011. It took a lot of planning at the time to make it happen. I was very proud of the accomplishment after I was finished with 8 different Icons (which including one Event). I then made a special trip to Ft Payne about a year later to log the Alabama One Busy Day Challenge. That challenge cache is now archived. I remember how much fun it was to take on this challenge so I am bringing back the Alabama Busy Day Challenge, especially for the newer cachers. I am grateful to David to placing the original Alabama One Busy Day Challenge and for giving his blessing for this new Alabama Busy Day Challenge to be placed.
The Challenge

Find six (or more) different of the ten currently available non-event cache types in one day!
Logging Requirements for the Alabama Busy Day Challenge:
Tell us about your Busy Day by creating a public bookmark list containing your qualifying caches found and this cache listing. Please also note the date of your Busy Day in the bookmark description. OR, in your Found It log, list the date of your Busy Day, and list the qualifying caches by name, icon type, and GC number.
I understand that some cachers might decide to do a roadtrip or a “Busy Day”together to accomplish a Busy Day Challenge, however, each cacher should create their own bookmark list or should list the qualifying caches in their log as described above.
The Cache
After your Busy Day, come to west Alabama and the Oakmulgee Section of the Talladega National Forest and log your Found It at the cache site. This cache has been placed with permission from the National Forest Service. You are looking for a camoed small Lock-N-Lock container. Please re-hide the cache well and especially carefully replace the rocks as this gives the cache FIRE PROTECTION during Forest Service Prescribed Burns.
The Rules and Regulations
-
A day is defined as one calendar day, such as February 6, 2013 from Mid-Night to Mid-Night. While a day consists of a 24 hour period, 6:00pm March 10, 2013 until 5:59pm March 11, 2013 does not qualify as a day for this challenge.
-
There is no geographic restriction for this Challenge. Finds in any state will be accepted. Your Busy Day may even span multiple states.
-
Only the following cache types are allowed for this Challenge: Traditional, Multi-cache, Unknown (Mystery), Letterbox Hybrid, Earthcache, Virtual, Webcam, Wherigo, Project APE, and GPS Adventures Exhibit. Any hide of these types which are active on your Busy Day are eligible. Event and CITO Icons do not meet the 6 Basic Minimum Icons requirements for this cache, but may be listed in the log (for bragging rights only)
-
This Challenge is open to everyone regardless of your home state.
-
No hides will count, only finds.
-
This cache does not count for the Unknown (Mystery) cache type required for this Challenge.
-
You do not have to find this cache on the same day as your Busy Day. You certainly may if you are confident in your list of finds. Remember that you must complete the Challenge before finding this cache, and it does not count for the Unknown (Mystery) cache type required.
-
Additional bragging rights can include events attended on the Busy Day and for finding a benchmark on the same day, but these add-ons do not count toward the requirements.
-
The officially recognized FTF is the cacher who completes the challenge and signs the cache log first.
-
As of 02/01/09, finds logged on GC1HTTN Daylight Saving Time Machine will not count toward this challenge.
-
A qualifying OBD list used to log GC44T2N Alabama's Extremely Busy Day Challenge or GC2G1E4 Oak Mountain Busy Day Challenge will not be accepted for this cache. To be clear, you cannot use a list of caches to get credit for the other OBD challenges in the state and this original Alabama's One Busy Day challenge although you may use the same caches. Just create a new separate list.
-
You may log this Alabama Busy Day Challenge more than once. Each time that you meet the above mentioned requirements you may log this caches as Found It. You only have to visit the physical cache site once when you complete your first Alabama Busy Day Challenge. All subsequent times that you complete a “Busy Day” you may go online and log this cache as Found It. However, EACH TIME that you complete a “Busy Day', you must meet the Logging Requirements. I suggest that you list each subsequent “Busy Day” as Busy Day #2, Busy Day #3, etc. Any logs that do not meet the logging requirements each time will be deleted.
-
You may log any “Busy Day” that you have accomplished, even “Busy Days” that were performed before the publication of this Alabama Busy Day Challenge. However, again, EACH Busy Day logged must meet the qualifying rules and the logging rules.
The Terrain and Difficulty Rating of the Alabama Busy Day Challenge cache reflects the difficulty of accomplishing the challenge.
