Dalesman: This cache has been in need of care and maintenance for some time and as the owner has not responded to my note I am archiving it.

Guidelines:**"You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to maintain proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.). You may temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have a chance to fix the problem. Geocache Description:


This particular 1.5 mile stretch goes across an area colloquially known as “on’t tops” or “The tops”. It offers some beautiful views, particularly of Emley Moor. 

There are 10 normal caches which stretch along this steady meamble. Normal, in that they can be found without working any puzzle out. However, the cache containers are a little devilish. Bring a pen and tweezers. Once we got you to number ten there was no real practical way to get you back to the start without crossing through boring housing estates and private land so we have placed two bonus caches. The co-ordinates for these can be picked up along the way. 

The route is very accessible to walkers and cyclists. There is a very gentle slope near the beginning and at the end, other than that the vast majority of this walk is billiard table flat. 

The beginning of the route takes you on dead man’s lane which was the route used by pall bearers to carry coffins towards Thornhill church without using the main road.
There is a public house nearby the end and if you get to half way and can smell fish and chips it means it is open and you can follow your nose. (You exit on the path towards the houses and it’s about 200 metres away) This isn’t too strenuous and can be used for a beginner route for caching, although I will reiterate when searching for the caches to disregard absolutely nothing.
