Hidden in a 35mm film cannister, this cache has only a log so a writing implement is needed. Other types along the route will vary from Nano to Small, where some swaps will be placed.
I have begun a series of caches that will follow the A168 from Wetherby and eventually end at Dishforth Airfield. All of the cahches have been placed at the side of the road where easy parking can be found near by, I wanted to make it as safe as possible for the young cachers out there to enjoy as well. Please take care when parking as the road can get very busy, and large trucks do park up for the night in some of the lay-bys.
It can either be completed by car, motor bike, or for the more energetic, bicycle.
I got the idea for this series of caches by one that had been set up a little further north, running along the A6055, which again is part of the old A1, called 'Service with a Smile'.
Having moved to Dishforth Airfield in 1990, as part of the Army, I have witnessed all the changes, road works, delays and frustrations that has gone along with making of the new A1.
I still enjoy driving along A168 every now and then, to break the monotony of motorway driving, and try to remember what it used to look like.
