Geocache Description:

An easy to find cache filled with lots of goodies.

Congratulations to Citizen_22 for FTF, Bearberry and The Cub for 2TF and Pirate Grrlz for 3TF.

Two hundred years after the War of 1812, a fierce battle took place on December 9, 2012.  Almost a hundred cachers descended upon the CNIB for the Calgary Cacher’s Christmas Party (GC4172Z) hosted by PrairieSwan, kophykupp and others.

One of the activities that day was a battle for cash supremacy.  Participants were given money and they had to try and expand their wealth by beating other participants in various forms of face-to-face or hand-to-hand combat.  Eventually, they fell one by one having lost all of their money.  Even the champion of thumb wars, yayajojo eventually fell to the supremacy of others.

I appeared to be one of the luckier Rock, Paper, Scissors combatants and I also won more than my fair share of coin flips. Therefore, I soon amassed great wealth.

The prize was a large ammo box filled with goodies and the bidding war began.  Those who had accumulated only small sums of cash soon fell by the wayside and eventually only three remained.  The cash stashes of the remaining three grew as others gave them their remaining cash.

There was the crafty and determined OptimusCache who may have received some help from gardengorilla and El Cacholoco.  There was the pretty and charming Hedgehog’s spoon who no doubt used that charm to persuade others to give their remaining cash to her and there was the grumpy and sometimes devious KinderKen (that’s me) who also managed to beg, steal and borrow cash from others.

As the bidding war continued, it became clear to me that I had no chance of winning.  It was obvious that the other two had much more wealth.  But I had a dilemma, should I give my fortune to Hedgehog's spoon or to OptimusCache. I had to act quickly and so I thought, forgetting it was the Christmas Season, “How can I benefit the most from this?  If I give my money to Optimuscache, he will win and the ammo box will likely be placed in the deep south where we northerners seldom venture.  However, if I give my cash to Hedgehog’s spoon, she will likely place the ammo box in the north.”  So I immediately gave my sizable fortune to her and the battle was over.  Optimuscache knew that he could not win and being the fine gentleman that he is, gracefully and honourably surrendered to the beaming Hedgehog’s spoon.

Of course Hedgehog’s spoon accepted the ammo box as her reward for winning the War of 2012. However after she retrieved some of the contents and was feeling very generous, she gave the ammo box to me for a future hide as thanks for adding to her wealth.

You are searching for that ammo box which, by the way, is hidden just a short distance from NW Calgary and you must take West Valley Road and 101 St SW to get to the hiding spot. I also wish to thank all of the participants in that epic battle of 2012.

Good luck.
