Geocache Description:

This newly innaugurated local park called Manatee Bend is small, but scenic and well used by local residents who come with their friends, their kids, their dogs, or alone for a little quiet time. The locals seem to have really embraced the spot and even enhanced it with a tree swing. There are benches and picnic tables. My first visit was with co-workers for a little Friday after work wine and cheese picnic. This is my very first hide, so please enjoy.

The park is named for the manatees and so is the cache. I'm told the manatees are often seen in this branch of Miami's Little River, so be sure to take a look.  Any manatees you see (alive or stuffed) should be loved and appreciated, but not disturbed. This is a small cache with a pen, notepad, one trackable and a fuzzy little gray friend who wants to stay put to remind everyone about the importance of our endangered manatees.

By the river I reside, a pretty park in which to hide. I live inside the Banyan tree, a furry sea cow inside of me. Keep him safe, leave him be. Look to the water for a Florida Manatee.
