SCBC (a beacon cache) Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Simply Paul: This is very sad. I found the NFC in place but couldn't read it. The only way to get it to work was remove it from the sign. The other ones I have of these are on plastic and wood. Note to self, check in situ! Also sad as the last time I was here was with my dear ol' mum... So, I decided to check on the final and found it missing too. I can take the hint. Sorry to LG, but this has to go to the big tupperware party in the sky. Thanks to everyone who found it.

Geocache Description:

This is a multi stage beacon cache. To find this cache you once needed a GPSr that could recieve CHIRP signals, but the Chirp vanished and now you need an NFC reader. Many smartphones have one built in.

This is a multi cache that starts with a beacon (of sorts) at a location with an NFC tag on it - the given co-ordinates. There is a total of 4 stages including the final cache. Only the first stage is an NFC, the two middle stages are 35mm film pots and the final cache is a small container with room for some swaps and TBs.

The route takes you on a nice circular wander towards the old railway line (soon to be the "East West" or "Varsity" Line linking Oxford and Cambridge) and back to the Village. The fields you will walk through will one day be covered in concrete and rails to form the maintenance depot for the planned HS2 line. So I suggest you complete this cache as soon as you can before the area becomes a huge building site.
