Bow Village has a double row of houses and cottages lining the main street. Many old properties can be seen that still retain the names of their former occupants – like Goulds, Tozers and Godfreys.
The raised cobbled bank, further up the main street, runs down one side of most of Bow village. It is now a conservation area but in the wet was treacherous, so a few years ago the pathway was relaid with non-slip bricks but the original cobble work can still be seen either side of the path.
The road has been surfaced many times and its level raised up against the banking. There are still storage area doorways to be seen along the bank, with the older generations of Bow still remembering the one outside The Goulds being used as a garage.
