Geocache Description:

I have placed my first geocache at the Park View Cemetery in honor of my Grandmother, Lois Ann Flatford.

I've placed my first geocache in honor of my dear Grandmother, Lois Flatford. She would've been 79 this year.  She was as sweet as the pies that she baked! She raised me with unconditional love and when she left, she took a huge piece of me with her. She will forever be my guiding light and inspiration! She totally caught me off guard when I went to visit with her one day. I let her listen to a mixed CD that I had made and she asked me to make a copy because she really liked the song, "Knockin' On Heaven's Door," by Guns N' Roses (my favorite band). Never did I imagine that my Grandmother would enjoy a song by an 80's hair band, but she did and I couldn't have been more excited! She even attempted the infamous snake dance once I provided a demonstration. I think I've named the cache appropriately! She was always afraid that the world would forget about her and that she would never have any visitors once she passed on. I figured that my fellow geocaching friends could help me to celebrate her life by stopping by to seek a cache.

This cache is located at my Grandmother's final resting place in the Park View Cemetery. There is parking right in front of her gravesite and it is probably the jazziest stone there!  You can't miss it! Her sister, Mary,  keeps the area well-maintained and visits often. Say hello to her for me if you happen to cross her path. Although I grew up in Alexandria, IN, I currently live about 3 hours away. I come back to visit often, but I've asked Mary to keep an eye on the cache for me. As always, please be respectful of cemetery hours and only hunt during the day. Bring your own pen to sign the log. There are prizes for the FTF! Please upload a picture with your log find if you can!

Happy Caching!

In Memory of Lois Ann Flatford. (September 2, 1934-August 7, 2008)

***Congrats to adagio83 for their first FTF!!***
