This is a challenge cache which is at the published coordinates.
The Challenge: To find and log TEN caches which are hidden at and relate to a specific glacial feature of Scotland's geology - Erratic Boulders. The caches need to be at 10 seperate locations.
There are more Erratic caches in Scotland than you may imagine but it is not going to be an easy tasks finding them all if you have thousands of finds, hence the high Difficulty rating.
The cache is at the published coordinates which is right at the top of the Briancroft trails.
It must only be logged as found when you have found ten qualifying caches. You are welcome to write a cache note with the details of qualifying caches and change it to a find when you physically find this cache or vice versa.
To claim a find you need to have BOTH signed the log AND listed the 10 qualifying caches.
In order to log this cache as found you must have found at least ONE Scottish Traditional/Multi/letterbox cache at an Erratic Boulder AND at least ONE Scottish Earthcache relating to an Erratic Boulder.
The cache finds MUST be in SCOTLAND.
The 10 caches need to be 10 seperate locations. A traditional and earth cache at the same co-ordinates would only count as 1 find.
Whilst the term Erratic Boulder does not necessarily have to be in the cache title, the cache needs to be AT or NEXT TO the boulder. That is not a view of it from a mile away. The cache page needs to clearly reflect what the object is and some explanation of the geology.
A clear example of an accepted Earthcache would be "Glen Artney Donalds - Fingal's Putting Stone" GC1TKE0
A clear example of an accepted Traditional cache would be "Auchnashelloch boulder" GC1TJPV
An example, which would be accepted, where the cache is not at the actual boulder or in the title but the cache is clearly about the nearby Erractic boulder and described in the text is "From across the Ocean" GC355W9
An example of an acceptable multi would be "The River And The Erratic" GC1P9ZQ. The cache description clearly states - On your way to the cache look out for the glacial erratic called “Samson’s Stone”
If you are unsure about whether a particular cache would qualify please contact CO first before logging. The CO's decision is final with regard to disputed caches.
FTF (cache & challenge) = pitbul99 and pippitt
