Geocache Description:

Cache placed with the kind permission of Brecon Beacons national park.

This is the 9th and last in our series, Pen needed. 

From Cache #8 A step along the way. Take a right at top of steps, follow road down to style on left side taking you through field past Llanwenarth house. 


 Ty Mawr, or Llanwenarth House, was built by Sir Morgan Lloyd in the middle of the 16th century. It was the chief house and estate in the parish and it is said that Cecil Francis Alexander wrote her "All things Bright and Beautiful" whilst staying at the house. The refrain "The purple headed mountains, The river running by," referring to the Sugar Loaf and Blorenge mountains and the River Usk.

To return to the start Follow  the canal  tow path towards Govilon until you reach the Aqueduct above Christchurch.
