Geocache Description:

Check out the new barn mural at the Carp fairgrounds.

The Mural

At the starting location for this cache, you will find the new barn mural, painted by Ottawa muralist Pierre Hardy.  This mural was unveiled Saturday September 14th, 2013, with a couple hundred in attendance.  All the clues to the final location of the cache are located within this mural.

The cache is located in the village of Carp, a short distance from the fairgrounds.  Stealth maybe be required to retrieve the cache, depending upon the time of year.  It is a micro, so it contains only a log book. You will need to bring your own writing utensil.

The Clues

  • How many townships are represented? Divide by 2 and let this be A.
  • Look for the guy with the numbered bib. Let B be the last digit on the bib.
  • Look for the girl with the soccer ball. Let C be the last digit on her soccer shorts.
  • Let D be the number of horses (both big and small). Do not include the horse heads in the Carp Fair - Best Little Fair in Canada! logo at the top center of the mural. (Thanks to Bluelamb03 for pointing out these two horse heads that I'd failed to observe.)
  • Let E be A+B+1

Note: The cache was originally placed at what is now the War Memorial, and the tree it was in has been cut down. I have moved it a bit further away, but it is still in the village.
