Laissez votre voiture sur le parking de la gare de Marbehan. Là une fois que vous avez le syndicat d’initiative en face de vous dirigez-vous sur la droite et passez la grille afin d’entrer dans le parc Lambiotte.
Traversez le parc tout droit (profitez-en pour admirer les arbres) jusqu’à l’arrivée à un petit chemin. Là prenez à gauche et dirigez vous vers la maison à droite… nul besoin d’aller jusque celle-ci puisque les oiseaux nichés sur votre gauche vous attendent avec de bonnes nouvelles.
Cette cache est une boite au lettre, il n'y a pas d' objet à emporter, vous y trouverez un log book et un tampon. Merci donc d'y laisser le tampon l'encre ainsi que le décor!!!

Le parc Lambiotte
Ce parc privé, aujourd'hui à l'abandon a appartenu depuis 1876 à la famille Lambiotte propriétaire d'une scierie alors florissante. Les arbres remarquables qui ont été heureusement maintenus, témoignent de la grandeur passée de cette exploitation qui fit vivre des générations d'habitants du village.
A partir de 1886, l’usine Lambiotte fut l’un des principaux sites européens producteur de charbon de bois. D’abord dédié à la carbonisation du bois des forêts, l’activité a ensuite englobé la distillation des liquides issus de cette carbonisation et la production de nombreux produits chimiques.
Dans les années 1940, Charles Coutor, ingénieur chez Lambiotte, met au point des fours verticaux pour la carbonisation du bois en continu. L’entreprise vendra des licences pour la construction de ces fours dans le monde entier.
Actuellement le site a été acheté par l’intercommunale Idelux pour en faire un éco-quartier et la plupart des arbres remarquables sont en cours de classement par La région wallonne.

Please, leave your car on the parking lot situated near the Station of Marbehan. From there on, once you’ve got the tourist office in front of you, walk to the right and go beyond the metal gate in order to enter the parc Lambiotte.
Cross the park, and continue straight on (while doing so, do no forget to take a look at the enchanting trees surrounding you) until you see a little path. There, go on the left and walk to the house on your right. However no need to go as far as the latter one since the birds nested on your left wait for you with good news.

Le parc Lambiotte.
Since 1876, this private park, nowadays abandoned, belonged to the Lambiotte family, who were owners of a, back then flourishing, sawmill. The remarkable trees which have fortunately been preserved show the past glory of this establishment which can be considered as having allowed generations of villagers to supply for their needs.
From 1886 onwards, the Lambiotte factory was one of the major European wood coal producing sites. Firstly devoted to the wood carbonization of forests, the activity then included distillation of liquids resulting from this carbonization and also included the production of many chemical products.
In the 1940s, Charles Coutor, who was an engineer by Lambiotte, developed vertical ovens for the continual carbonization of wood. The factory then would sell licences for the construction of these ovens in the entire world.
The site has currently been bought by the intermunicipal Idelux with the aim of building an Eco district and the majority of remarkable trees are, as a matter of fact, being classed by the Walloon region (region wallonne).
