This cache is temporarily unavailable.

GizmoKyla: Hi foxmartspot,

This cache has been flagged by Geocaching HQ as one that may need attention.

We notice that no action has been taken by the owner to correct the issue, could the owner please check this cache and give an indication of when it may be sorted out.

If there is no response to this log after 30 days we will archive the cache.

In the meantime we are disabling it.

Guidelines:

  • You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to ensure it is in proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.) or posts a Needs Maintenance log. Temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have addressed the problem.

You are permitted a reasonable amount of time --generally, up to 4 weeks – in which to check on your cache.
If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing.

Could the cache owner please place a note on the cache page so that we and other cachers can see what your intentions are.

After you maintained your cache, enable your cache page and post an “Owner Maintenance” log.

Please DO NOT send an email about this cache in case we don't receive it. Posting a note will ensure your cache does not get archived in error.

Regards

Dave & Dawn

How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

A simple offset multi, 3rd (and 4th prior to renumbering!) of the Hidden Houses series taking you to the ruins of the old hamlets of Grwyne Fawr and Ffwddog. The route consists of two loops which can be done separately, or combined into a figure of eight. The Western Grwyne Fawr loop consists of caches 1-9 and is about 1.5 mile long. The Eastern Ffwddog loop consists of caches 10-24 and is about 4 miles long. Most people are reporting tracks of 8 miles including cache searches.

This series takes you to the ruins of the old hamlets of Grwyne Fawr on the western side of the valley and Ffwddog on the Eastern side, with snippets of history contained in each cache. GPS signal can be poor in the valley and under the trees so you may need the hints. The difficulty and terrain ratings are based on the route as a whole but are fairly representative of all caches.

Permission kindly granted by Natural Resources Wales.
