Geocache Description:

This cache was made on the historic Colorado flood day 9-13-13. This area may have helped save Spring Creek from flooding.

Camo cache located off of one of the trails. Contains trade items, log, and pens. This is our first cache. Please remember, if you take something, leave something of equal or greater value and if you take trackable to log it.

Red Fox Meadows is a natural area and an important stormwater detention site. The Canal Importation Ponds Outfall (CIPO) project was underway for several years, and now Red Fox Meadows is open.

There is something for both people and wildlife here: improved habitat for wildlife, trails and reduced flood risk for people. You'll want to check out the new parking lot near the intersection of Prospect and Taft Hill roads, the outdoor classroom boardwalk and Barb McKee's Art in Public Places piece featuring a heron and cattails in the outfall structure.

More About CIPO

  • Increase local flood protection
  • Prevent stormwater pollution
  • Improve water quality in streams and groundwater
  • Enhance wildlife habitat
  • Provide recreational and educational opportunities.
