I presume that you all have heard Aesop’s story about the Ant and the Grashopper. For those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about, here’s the short version
The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed. The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.
In Dauphin we had the same thing happening last year. But in the end the Grasshopper was given some food from a couple of very friendly Parkland Ants. And instead of dying, the Grasshopper was able to find a home for the winter.
Better check on him and see if he did store some food this time.
