Geocache Description:

This is a challenge geocache which means that the cache IS at the published coordinates but you need to complete a specified task before the geocache can be found and logged.

Are you the sort of person who gets a bit stressed when heading away on an international flight? If so this cache is not for you as it requires you find find a cache before you leave home and another one when you arrive at your destination.

To complete this challenge, you have to find a physical geocache in at least two countries on the same calendar day before finding this cache and signing the log.

To make it more interesting and give it more of a New Zealand flavour the mode of transport between at least two of the countries must be by aircraft.

List the caches found, date found and countries you visited in your on-line log to allow verification.

The fine print:

  • Only physical cache types with an actual logbook count i.e. virtual caches such as Virtual, Earthcache, Event, CITO, Mega, Benchmarks, Waypoints etc DO NOT count.
  • Calendar day refers to the local date in the countries you visit. This means it is possible to take advantage of time zones. For example, on one trip I found a cache in NZ on the 6th Sept, found another in while transiting in Sydney on 6th Sept and yet another on arrival in the USA on the 6th Sept local time. Result = 3 caches in 3 countries on a single calendar day despite the final cache being found on 7th Sept NZ time. Beware that time zones can be a disadvantage if you are travelling in the "wrong" direction.
  • A Country as defined on the Geocaching.com website.
  • If you have already achieved this challenge in the past, great, it counts. You still need to sign the logbook though.
  • Caches that you have placed do not count.
  • Bonus points are awarded for caching in more than 2 countries in a single calendar day smiley
The cache is located next to the Raglan Airstrip. No need to walk on the airstrip to find the cache. Dogs are permitted but it is recommended that they be kept on a leash.
