Geocache Description:

2 Degrees of Separation

Most people are familiar with the concept of "6 degrees of Separation"  (not necessarily just from Kevin Bacon).  Well this little puzzle is about 2 degrees of separation. Maybe you have already figured out that here in the park there are 2 (and maybe more) individuals who are related by a common tie.  The idea of this puzzle is to figure out these particular individuals by solving this simple puzzle and piece it together.

First, you have to go to the plaque of the individual that is pictured.  Note the date of their nobel prize award. Next go "2 degrees" Sw to the plaque of another prize winner.  Note the date of there award. The final location is at this coordinate:

N 44° 03.A11 W 123° 05.B23

Solving for A:  Take the last digit of each date and add them together.

Solving for B:  Take the last digit of each date and subtract.

The final location is at a place honoring another well known local person.  Extra points if you can figure out the "2 degrees" link for this person and the one from the original plaque.
