De fleste sørlendinger under 40 med "lappen" har et forhold til denne glattkjøringsbanen lokalisert i Sørlandsparken. Her er aktivitet på banen både sommer som vinter, og utenom normal arbeidstid benyttes ofte banen til motorsport (f.eks. drifting).
Her finner man også Trafoen, et trafikksikkerhetsprosjekt i Kristiansand som åpnet 17. mars 2005. Det var planlagt å pågå frem til 2007, men ble deretter gjort permanent.
Planlegging, utvikling og byggearbeid tok litt over to år. Prosjektet er finansiert av Statens vegvesen Region sør, Vest-Agder fylkeskommune og 6 kommuner på Agder.
Initiativtakere til prosjektet er 4 ungdommer som mistet 4 venner i en tragisk bilulykke i november 2002. Deres mål har vært å la ungdom oppleve konsekvensene av en trafikkulykke.

Most locals under the age of 40 with a driver's license have excercised their skills on slippery roads using this skid track which is available all year round. In the afternoon this track is often used for motorsports (like drifting etc).
Here you will also find the TRAFO project - a traffic safety project in Kristiansand, Norway, that opened officially 17th March 2005 and was scheduled to run until 2007.
Planning, development and building of the project took just over two years. The project is financed by the government road agency - south region, Vest-Agder County and six councils in Agder.
In 2007 the project was made a into a permanent traffic safety scheme, using the same format.
The initiators behind the project are four young people who lost four friends in a tragic car accident in November 2002. Their goal has been to let young people experience the consequences of a traffic accident. Many agencies have contributed to the development of the project and the result is a combination of their efforts.
