The posted coordinates will take you to an Eagle Project that was dedicated in October, 2009. It took more than 200 hours and a great deal of planning by this Eagle Scout, but thanks to his dedication and determination, his parish has a memorial honoring our nation’s veterans.
Although the project was featured at its inception in The Monitor in June 2009, the dedication ceremony was held on October 25, 2009. The dedication drew more than 100 members of the parish community and his Boy Scout troop, as well as representatives from the New Jersey National guard and various veterans’ organizations. The Scout's father, who served in the Guard for 40 years, was also present, and worked with his son throughout the planning and construction process. Complete with an engraved plaque and a flagpole, the multifaceted project was supported by many well-wishers. The Scout said of the project, “It was a lot of hard work... but it went well. It was a showing of how much the community cares about honoring the veterans”.
