The Stony River Hotel has been here selling beer for about 140 years (A long time in NZ) but a few years back the taps were tuned off and it became a kindergarten (perhaps the same behaviour by patrons but less beer involved). Half of the hotel is in the process of reopening as a cafe and nice B&B. The one famous feature of this building is the unopened safe.
The Cache is a 35m film container tucked away at the font of the property. No need to go inside unless you want to.
There is a floor combination lock safe in the hotel that has not been open in living memory and no one has any idea what it contains. Many people have tried to open it and the previous owners used to hold challenges. So all you geocaches that fancy their problem solving skills - this might just provide the ultimate challenge.
