Nice and simple cache hidden along the new cycle path that connects Treforest to Tonteg. It is located near three metal, life size, statues that have been erected roughly in the middle of the length of the cycle path. Path is concrete all the way with slightly rough ground on the edges. Pushchairs, prams and wheelchairs shouldn't have a problem*. Cache is hidden from view.
Cache is a small cache, slightly bigger than a micro cache and could include small trinkets. It's in a camouflage bag hidden from view. It has a logbook and pencil in it.
The location has been chosen because it's a new route between the Treforest and Tonteg (opened June 2012) and links up well to the Church Village Bypass caches which start at the Tonteg end. It's a great walk to get to the bypass for the views or just to do half of it to get the cache.
Metal statues are of Tom Jones, James James and John Hughes and there's a little plague on the side of the bench telling you all about them.
*Please note not that cache site is not accessible for wheelchairs or pushchairs if you are arriving from the car parking coordinates. There is a stile and steps. Wheelchair and pram access ok from either end of the path though.
