I was sad to see the original "Only Halfway Cache" archived, as it was one of the first ammo cans I found. The ammo can may still be there, if anyone is willing to dig through a packrat's nest to search for it
This cache is still located halfway up the trail to Colinas Vista Cache, at the exact same coordinates as its predecessor. It has morphed into a camo'd mini decon container, with a WheresGeorge dollar for FTF. No pen/pencil, so bring your own.
