Daiho Hachiman shrine
This was established in 701 and is the oldest Hachiman shrine in Kanto. Because "大宝" means "big treasure", it is said this shrine has beneficial properties for treasure, especially for lottery.
In addition, there is a legend about En no Ozunu who suppressed the devil fire around here. There used to be a big lake in old days. A Daiho castle was built in the shore. In 14th century, the castle fell after fierce battles. Therefore, the castle disappeared at present, and a lot of hydrangeas are planted in the ruins. The ruins are located behind the Hachiman shrine.
An unique festival is held annually on September 12 and 14. In 1370, there was a big fire and a priest put out the fire quickly with a tatami mat. The name of the festival "Tabanka" came from a sound at that time. If you have an opportunity to come here at the festival night, you will watch the big fire and the performance of the fire extinguishing.
Altough the listed coordinates show the Hachiman shrine, there is not this cache because this is an Unknown cache. When you visit the shrine, you will see some signboards in the precincts written in Japanese. You will see some Arabic numerals on them. Please find the values of A-E as shown in Fig. 2. 大宝八幡宮
この神社は大宝元年(701)に筑紫(現:大分県)の宇佐八幡宮から勧請創建されました。関東最古の八幡さまらしいです。宝くじ祈願でも全国的に知れわたっているようです。
修験道の祖といわれる役小角が、江（騰波の江）の古沢黒島の近くに出た怪しい青火を鎮めたという伝説があります。むかしは、このあたりは鳥羽の淡海という大きな湖沼があったそうですが、今では水田地帯となり、干拓の名残りとしては西の方に砂沼が残っています。そして、湖沼の一端であったこのあたりには大宝城がありました。城跡にはアジサイの花が植えてあり、時期によっては大勢の訪問客があります。
大宝八幡宮ではいくつかの祭事が行われていますが、珍しいものとして、毎年9月12日と14日に行われるタバンカ祭というのがあります。火事を畳と鍋蓋を使って消し止めたという故事からきた夜祭です。
表示の座標は大宝八幡宮を指していますが、そこにこのキャッシュはありません。神社の境内にはいくつかの説明板があります。それらを探して下に示すFig. 2のA-Eの値を見つけてください。キャッシュの設置場所は次のとおりです。
