It appears I could create a whole series of caches where Union Carbide buildings used to be. This is yet another spot where many scientists, engineers, technicians, and human resource employees in the Kanawha Valley used to spend their days. But alas, it is no more. On March 28, 2009, this building was destroyed in a matter of seconds during a planned demolition using explosives. While it was sad to see this piece of the community's history destroyed, watching the demolition was really freaking cool! All that is left now is a piece of property with a few parking lots that has been donated to the state. I always see a few cars parked here, but I have no idea what they are there for. There's nothing really around the place. Maybe people use it as a park n' ride now.
